GLP-1’s New Bestie

The most abundant hormone in your body.

Almost no one checks it right.

Healthy T‑levels can flip the lights back on in your body so you feel like yourself again, with:

Steady, all-day energy and confidence

Science & why

Your body knows the difference.

SummaUp starts with the most overlooked hormone — bioidentical testosterone — the same molecules your body makes naturally.

Synthetic

A close copy.

Designed to mimic, not replicate.

  • A different molecular structure from your hormones
  • Often derived from other sources, such as animal origin
  • The hormones used in most conventional HRT

What you’ve heard about testosterone is 20 years out of date

Unwanted hair growth. Rage. Bulky muscles. Deeper voice. All the things that almost never happen at the tiny, micro doses.

“You can’t take testosterone if your labs are normal.”

“Normal” lab ranges can be broad, and they don’t mean your symptoms aren’t real. Your clinician will consider both symptoms and lab results in accordance with medical guidelines to determine if testosterone may be appropriate for you.

“Testosterone isn’t safe for women.”

SummaUp offers customized treatment plans with lab monitoring and clear communication every step of the way. If T is not right for you today, we’ll work together to find the treatment that is.

“Testosterone is only for men.”

That’s a common misconception. Testosterone is the most abundant sex hormone in a woman’s body — 10 to 20 times higher than estrogen — and studies show it supports libido, focus, muscle tone, and more. SummaUp prescribes clinician-guided testosterone care with plans designed for women, not just reworked from men’s medicine.

Meanwhile, women working with modern hormone specialists are quietly getting their lives back:

  • Sleeping through the night instead of doing 3 a.m. math
  • Feeling real, all-day energy and a brain that turns on
  • Calmer mood, fewer meltdowns over nothing
  • Skin that looks thicker and glowier, not “fast-forwarded a decade”
  • A sex drive that didn’t just move states and change its name

The difference isn’t “good genes.” It’s having a team who actually understands women’s testosterone and uses bioidentical, micro-dosed treatments that work with your body instead of blasting it.

If you’ve been told “you’re normal for your age” but you don’t feel normal at all, your next step isn’t another article or another serum. Take 60 seconds, start your assessment, and let a specialist tell you if testosterone could be part of your answer.

FAQs

Getting Started

How do I get started?

Start by taking our free health quiz. If you’re a candidate, you’ll move straight to checkout. From there, you’ll choose either the Lie Detector Test or SummaUp Plus.

After a licensed clinician reviews your info, your prescription is sent to the pharmacy and shipped directly to you.

How do I know if I’m a candidate?

If you’re a woman 40+ and any of this sounds familiar…

  • …staring in the mirror going “who is this?” and refusing to settle for it.
  • …sat in your doctor’s office, said something’s wrong, and got a shrug or were told your labs were “normal.”
  • …just turned 40, 50, 60 and decided that “fading” is simply not your story.

Or simply:

  • Low energy or constant fatigue
  • Mood changes, brain fog, or “I just don’t feel like myself”
  • Softer muscles, stubborn weight, or low libido
  • Sleep that’s lighter, shorter, or not restful

…you’re very likely a candidate for SummaUp. Our program is built for women in perimenopause and menopause. You don’t need a prior diagnosis, a referral, or existing lab work to get started.

If we determine that T isn’t the right fit, we’ll issue a full refund — no questions asked. You have nothing to lose by finding out.

Do I need to visit a clinic in person?

No. Everything is done from home.

You’ll start with a quick online health assessment. If you’re a candidate, you’ll move straight to checkout. From there, you’ll choose either the Lie Detector Test or SummaUp Plus. After a licensed clinician reviews your info, your prescription is sent to the pharmacy and shipped discreetly and directly to you.

Treatment & Results

Why is SummaUp different?

Most hormone therapy — including popular creams and easy-to-prescribe estrogen/progesterone blends from other brands — focuses on the “simple” symptoms like hot flashes or sleep while ignoring the hormone women actually have the most of: testosterone.

We do things differently. We start with testosterone first — because it’s the most abundant sex hormone in women, yet the most under-diagnosed and under-treated after 35.

Here’s what they never taught us in health class: testosterone receptors are everywhere in a woman’s body — your brain, muscles, bones, skin, heart, and nearly every major system. When levels drop, everything feels harder: stubborn belly fat, crushing fatigue, sleep that never feels restorative, fading desire, and skin that suddenly looks older.

Many women are told it’s “just aging” despite feeling exhausted, foggy, unmotivated, emotionally flat, or like their bodies have changed overnight. But you know better.

After 40, your health isn’t measured by how much weight you lose — it’s measured by how much strength and muscle you hold onto. Muscle is one of the strongest predictors of healthy aging. It keeps your metabolism from crashing, improves blood sugar, strengthens your bones, and keeps you independent and capable for decades to come.

And the hormone that quietly decides whether your body builds and keeps muscle… or burns it away? Testosterone.

When testosterone is low, your body is far more likely to lose muscle instead of fat, no matter how “perfectly” you diet. That’s exactly why we start with testosterone. We restore the signal that tells your body to hold onto strength while the fat comes off.

The goal isn’t to become smaller. The goal is becoming stronger, more energetic, and more you. Your future self — the one keeping up with family, traveling, and feeling great in her skin — will thank you.

How soon can I see results?

Most women begin to notice improvements in energy, sleep, and mood within a few weeks. Full hormone optimization, along with changes in weight, muscle tone, strength, and body composition, may take up to 4 to 6 months. Within three months, 80% of women feel significant or complete symptom relief.

Treatment progress is different for every patient and can vary depending on treatment compliance, hormone metabolism, and symptom severity. After 12 weeks, your care team will check in and see how you’re doing.

Best of all, your care team is available throughout this process to answer questions, set expectations, and make sure you feel supported at every stage.

Do I need to be in menopause to use testosterone?

Nope. Testosterone starts dropping during perimenopause — before menopause takes full effect. SummaUp prescribes testosterone for both peri- and post-menopausal women when it’s the right fit.

Will SummaUp work for me in perimenopause?

Yes. You don’t have to wait until you’ve reached menopause to start hormones. Many of our patients are around 40 and in the perimenopause stage, which lasts approximately seven to 10 years. Symptoms begin to develop during this time, and testosterone can be one of the most effective treatments for managing these symptoms to promote a smoother journey through the menopause transition.

Can testosterone help with weight loss?

Testosterone isn’t a weight-loss drug but it can be a powerful ally. It helps build lean muscle and boosts metabolism, making your body more responsive to burning fat alongside exercise and diet changes.

In an outcome review of SummaUp patients combining GLP-1s like tirzepatide with testosterone, we have observed sustained fat loss (less likelihood of the GLP-1 rebound), better muscle tone, and improved body recomposition. These are real-world observations only and not guaranteed outcomes (nor a controlled clinical trial).

The science is promising too: a 2026 Mayo Clinic study found postmenopausal women on menopausal hormone therapy lost 35% more weight on tirzepatide compared to those not on hormone support. The two appear to amplify each other’s benefits for better results.

Important: testosterone and other hormone therapies should only be used under the guidance of a qualified healthcare provider. They have potential risks and benefits that must be discussed individually. This information is for educational purposes and is not medical advice.

Can I combine testosterone with other treatments like GLP-1 weight loss or NAD+ or peptides?

Yes. In our world, they’re meant to work together, not separately. At SummaUp, your care is built around stacking the right tools for women over 40:

  • Micro-dosed testosterone helps protect muscle, mood, energy, and metabolism.
  • GLP-1 weight loss peptides (like tirzepatide) help calm appetite and improve blood sugar control.
  • NAD+ and select peptides like Glow can support cellular energy, recovery, and longevity.

When one team is managing all of this for you, we can design a single, coordinated plan instead of disconnected prescriptions, adjust doses based on how you respond, and protect muscle and metabolism while you’re losing weight — instead of trading one problem for another.

Through your SummaUp care team, you can access competitive pricing and comprehensive GLP-1 weight loss programs, as well as other longevity and wellness therapies including NAD+ and peptide protocols. Your provider can help you determine which combination is right for your goals.

What is microdosing testosterone?

Microdosing testosterone — administering small, injectable doses — has gained traction as an effective way to optimize hormone levels. Similar to GLP-1 medications for weight management, microdosing testosterone offers a precise, effective way to balance hormone levels and maintain stability without the rollercoaster of highs and lows traditionally associated with larger, infrequent doses.

Microdosing involves giving small, injectable doses of testosterone at regular intervals without overwhelming the body. For women, this approach can bring about numerous physical, cognitive, and sexual health benefits without the side effects that are commonly feared.

The injections are tiny and relatively painless, making them a quick and easy addition to any routine. This method is also ideal for those who may be new to testosterone therapy and are hesitant about committing to larger doses.

Does testosterone work better than supplements?

Yes. Herbal supplements, vitamins, and over-the-counter “boosters” may offer mild, temporary support — but they cannot meaningfully restore your actual testosterone levels.

Your body doesn’t make ashwagandha, fenugreek, or DHEA precursors the way it makes testosterone. When levels decline after 35, only real, bioidentical testosterone (prescribed and properly monitored) can bring your levels back into an optimal range and deliver noticeable improvements in energy, mood, muscle tone, libido, and metabolism.

At SummaUp, we use micro-dosed bioidentical testosterone — the same molecule your body naturally produces — tailored to you with lab-guided precision. Supplements can be a nice addition. But if you want real, lasting change, testosterone therapy is in a different league.

What are bioidentical hormones?

Bioidentical hormones are compounds that have the same molecular structure as the hormones naturally produced by your body. They are designed to restore hormonal balance and alleviate symptoms associated with hormone imbalances, such as fatigue, mood swings, and menopausal changes.

Bioidentical hormones are often derived from plant sources and can be customized to meet individual needs for optimal health and well-being.

Why do you start with testosterone first (instead of progesterone, estradiol, or thyroid)?

Most clinics start with estrogen or progesterone miracle creams, pills, or patches. They treat a few symptoms like hot flashes or sleep and call it “comprehensive care.”

We start with testosterone first — the most abundant sex hormone in women, yet the one almost nobody properly addresses after 35. Why? It delivers the biggest “I feel like me again” impact for most women over 40 — yet it’s the one doctors overlook the most.

After 35, declining T quietly drives many of the symptoms women blame on “just aging”: low energy, brain fog, muscle loss, stubborn fat, fading desire, and slower recovery.

Fixing testosterone first often gives the fastest, most noticeable lift in energy, mood, strength, and body composition — especially important if you’re on a GLP-1. It also protects the muscle that keeps your metabolism strong. Once T is optimized, we can then layer in estradiol, progesterone, or thyroid support as your labs and symptoms indicate. This stepwise approach is safer, more effective, and helps you feel like yourself again faster.

What happens if I stop treatment?

If you stop treatment, your hormones will gradually drift back toward where they were before you started. For most women, that means the symptoms that brought you to SummaUp in the first place – low energy, flat mood, weaker muscles, stubborn weight, low libido, sleep disruption – can slowly return over time.

There’s no “rebound danger” unique to stopping micro-dosed testosterone, GLP-1s, or peptides, but you should always make that decision with your care team. Depending on how long you’ve been on your plan and your health history, we may recommend tapering doses rather than stopping everything at once.

If you need to pause or cancel your SummaUp program, you can do that at any time. Medications that have already been shipped aren’t refundable, but you’ll keep access to your care team and support through the end of your current cycle.

The goal is simple: you stay on treatment as long as the benefits to your energy, body, and quality of life clearly outweigh the hassle and cost. If that ever changes, we adjust with you.

Can I take my treatment plan to my primary care doctor (PCP)?

You’re welcome to share it, but in most cases it won’t deliver the same results.

Most women who find us already tried that path. They went to their PCP, OB-GYN, or an insurance-covered telehealth, got a stack of labs, and heard some version of: “You’re in range. This is just getting older.” Maybe they got a basic HRT script and “follow-up.” They did not get their energy, mood, muscle, or body back.

That’s because insurance-based care is built for basic care management, not advanced testosterone optimization. In practice, that usually means:

  • Little or no training in micro-dosed testosterone for women
  • Almost zero experience in combining T with GLP-1s and the latest peptides
  • Strict reliance on generic lab ranges, even when you feel exhausted, flat, and unlike yourself
  • Pressure to use cheap, synthetic options and one-size-fits-all protocols

It’s not that your PCP doesn’t care. They’re working in a system designed to move quickly, check boxes, and keep costs down. That system is NOT built to fine-tune your T until your energy, mood, muscle, libido, and weight are actually improving.

At SummaUp, this is all we do:

  • We specialize in micro-dosed testosterone for women, not general primary care
  • We use bioidentical hormones and adjust based on both labs and symptoms
  • We can combine T with peptides and advanced therapies when appropriate, without waiting for insurance approval
  • We’re not chasing insurance approval, so your plan is built around what works for your body, not what’s easiest to bill

You should absolutely keep your PCP informed for your overall health. But if your goal is to actually feel like yourself again, your best shot is staying in a program built around women’s T optimization.

Safety

Is testosterone safe for long-term use? What about the risks I’ve heard about?

This is one of the most important questions we get, and we want to address it directly.

SummaUp uses only bioidentical testosterone. In plain terms: they’re natural to your body, better tolerated than synthetics, and designed to restore — not override — your natural balance. Treatment is monitored and adjusted over time, focusing on safe, long-term support.

Your SummaUp care team will look at your full health picture and symptoms before prescribing testosterone, building a safe care plan that’s right for you. Sometimes, that doesn’t include testosterone. When it does, we start with low doses and monitor bloodwork through each step of your journey to track hormone response and minimize side effects.

What are the side effects of testosterone?

At the low doses prescribed by SummaUp clinicians, side effects are rare. On the off chance they do happen, they can include:

  • Mild acne or oily skin
  • Increased hair growth (especially at application site)
  • Voice deepening (rare, and usually dose-related)
  • Mood changes

Your care team will monitor your levels closely, adjusting your dose if needed to prevent side effects.

Does SummaUp prescribe testosterone pellets?

No. Pellets release testosterone in uncontrolled amounts, and they can’t be adjusted once implanted. SummaUp prescribes safe, low-dose therapy that can be paused or changed anytime.

Is my personal information safe?

Absolutely. Your privacy is a top priority. We use state-of-the-art encryption to protect all of your data. Your blood samples are handled securely by our partner labs, and after testing, they’re disposed of in accordance with medical regulations. Rest assured — your DNA or blood samples will never be stored or sold.

Labs & Testing

Do I need lab work to start?

Lab work is not required to begin treatment. Your care is guided first and foremost by your symptoms, medical history, and a comprehensive clinical review — not just lab numbers. Many hormone issues can be identified and treated based on how you feel. Lab results don’t always match real-life fluctuations, and it’s common to feel unwell even when labs read “normal.”

If you’ve got the symptoms, that’s the signal, and we won’t make you chase bloodwork before we take you seriously. Labs are optional — your journey with us will be personalized either way. This approach means you don’t have to wait weeks for lab results before getting started.

That said, testing is still valuable. If you have recent labs, send them over. Otherwise, you can complete convenient testing within 4–6 weeks on testosterone therapy. Your care team will use the results to fine-tune your protocol and monitor levels to make sure they stay in the right therapeutic range. After that, we may recommend check-ins every 6–12 months.

Prefer to begin with labs first? You can absolutely do that with our Hormone Lie Detector Test and start your plan once you’ve reviewed those results with your care team.

Note: blood work is included as a FREE part of the SummaUp Program and is integrated when it’s clinically valuable.

What labs are included and what would they cost on my own?

With the Hormone Lie Detector Test you’re getting $300–$430 worth of lab work + expert review for $29 — and that $29 is credited toward your first month if you continue care. If you move forward, the test is effectively $0.

The panel includes 32 biomarkers. Here are just a few and what you’d typically pay cash for them on your own:

  • Total Testosterone — $59.00–$79.00
  • Estradiol — $31.00–$79.00
  • Progesterone — $35.00–$89.00
  • Thyroid Trio (TSH, Free T3, Free T4) — $60.00–$89.00
  • CMP-14 (Comprehensive Metabolic Panel) — $30.00–$49.00
  • CBC (Complete Blood Count) — $20.00–$29.00
  • Lab processing / draw fee — $8.00–$15.00

Estimated total out-of-pocket: $300.00–$430.00+

Through SummaUp’s Hormone Lie Detector Test, you get the full multi-biomarker panel, an expert review that translates the results into plain English — what’s normal for a 25-year-old vs what’s actually right for you now — clear guidance on whether hormones (especially testosterone) are the missing piece, and a $29 credit toward your first month if you start treatment.

If you’re even a little bit tired of guessing and Googling, this is the lowest-risk step you can take to finally see what’s going on in your body.

Do I need to test on a certain day/cycle of the month?

We don’t require you to draw blood on a specific day of the month. We do ask you to note what day you are in your cycle when you do get your blood drawn. Not all women have regular cycles. When interpreting labs for your follow-up we are looking at ranges, ratios, symptoms, and goals.

Pricing & Membership

What’s the difference between the Lie Detector Test and SummaUp Plus?

Hormone Lie Detector Test = Step 1 (Find out what’s really going on)

If you’re thinking, “I just want to see if this is my hormones,” this is where you start.

  • One discounted blood panel (30+ biomarkers) designed for women 40–65
  • A clinician reviews your results and your symptoms (not just “in range / out of range”)
  • Plain-English explanation of what’s off, especially around testosterone
  • Clear next-step plan based on your numbers and how you feel

It’s $29 (vs $300+ if you bought these labs on your own). If you upgrade to SummaUp Plus within 7 days, we credit the full $29 toward your program, so the test effectively costs $0 when you continue.

SummaUp Plus = Step 2 (Fix it and feel different)

If you’re already sure something’s off and you want it handled, this is the full program. You get everything in the Hormone Lie Detector Test plus:

  • Bioidentical, micro-dosed testosterone for women 40–65
  • A personalized T protocol to support energy, mood, sleep, muscle, libido, and weight
  • Ongoing oversight and dose adjustments by your hormone care team
  • The option to layer in estrogen, progesterone, thyroid, GLP-1s, and peptides when appropriate (meds billed separately)

All of this works out to about $83/month for your 6-month T Reset Program (billed as a program at $499 upfront, not a random refill).

TL;DR

  • Not sure it’s hormones? → Start with the Hormone Lie Detector Test.
  • You know you’re done feeling half-alive? → Go straight to SummaUp Plus.
Is testosterone medication included in the price?

Yes, your six-month supply of micro-dosed injectable bioidentical testosterone is included in your SummaUp Plus membership. No separate charge, no surprise pharmacy bill.

Why is membership required for testosterone?

First of all, injectable testosterone is FREE with your membership.

Hormone therapy is not a transaction but an ongoing process. It requires ongoing care to be safe and effective since dosing and application evolve over time. Membership includes regular labs, clinician oversight, and dosing adjustments to keep your levels optimized, manage side effects, and prevent complications like hormone imbalance — plus access to concierge support and peptides that can improve your overall health and wellness.

Do you accept insurance, HSA, or FSA?

SummaUp is a cash-pay program and does not bill insurance directly, but we do accept HSA and FSA payments and can provide receipts for reimbursement. Operating cash-pay removes prior authorizations and delays so your provider can prescribe what’s clinically right for you.

Why we don’t take insurance — and why that benefits you

Insurance covers the bare minimum: the lowest dose, the shortest time, and one-size-fits-all reactive treatments that rarely solve symptoms.

  • Short appointments: 7 to 10 minutes are not enough to solve years of symptoms.
  • Untrained providers: most doctors have minimal training in women’s hormones or peptides.
  • Restricted treatment options: does not cover custom designed micro doses.
  • Lowest dose, shortest time: guidelines restrict treatment instead of optimizing it.
  • Red tape and delays: authorizations, denied claims, and endless paperwork.
  • Surprise bills: deductibles, copays and lab fees often cost more than direct care.

Insurance care is built on cost savings, not results. At SummaUp, we prescribe based on what your body needs. No restrictions. No approvals. Just personalized care that works.

What if I need to cancel?

You can cancel at any time. Simply contact our support team and we’ll take care of it. There are no long-term contracts or cancellation penalties.

Is This For Me?

Who is this NOT for? Is this for women, men, or both?

This is not for you if:

If you’re a guy.

The whole system was already built for you. We’re the one built specifically for women 40+ who got left out of that. Wrong door.

If you want insurance to cover it.

It won’t, and we’re not going to pretend otherwise. Insurance pays for the bare minimum – lowest dose, shortest time, one-size-fits-all – not what actually fixes how you feel. This is cash-pay, priced so you’re:

  • Not kicked off meds because of one lab result or random rule
  • Not stuck at doses that aren’t right for your body or blocked from better options
  • Not begging a claims department for permission to feel like yourself
  • Not getting a surprise overbill 90 days later for “what insurance didn’t cover”

If you’re under 40.

Come back — genuinely. Our protocols are built around the biology of women 40+. We’re not going to give you something calibrated for a body a decade older than yours.

If you’re “not a meds person.”

If you’re truly against any prescription support, totally fair. This program uses bioidentical hormones and prescription support, when appropriate, because hormones do decline as we age. If you’re set on only using “all natural” approaches and will never consider medication, this isn’t a fit for you. No hard feelings.

If you are under the care of multiple physicians due to a complex medical condition.

This is probably not for you. Your care is safest when it’s coordinated by the team that already knows your full medical history.

If you need your PCP to sign off on everything first.

If your default is, “Let me ask my primary care doctor,” and that’s the same person who told you “you’re fine” while you clearly don’t feel fine, this isn’t for you. We’re a second, specialized set of eyes for women who are willing to get better information, not the exact same opinion in a different font. This program is for women who are ready to lead their own care, not outsource every decision back to the status quo.

If you’ve decided “that’s just aging” and there’s nothing to be done.

Then you’ve made your peace, and we’re not here to unmake it. This is for women who were told “that’s just your age” or to “age gracefully” and thought, “Absolutely not.” If you’re not one of them, that’s a real answer — keep scrolling.

I have another question for you.

Contact us with any more questions at rx.summaup.com/pages/contact.

Testosterone is everywhere in women. Until it isn’t.

What they should have told us in health class: testosterone receptors exist throughout the body. Brain, muscles, bones, skin, heart — every organ and system.

When T-levels fall after 35, most women feel low energy, broken sleep, stubborn belly fat, fading desire, and skin that suddenly looks older. These changes are often written off as “just aging.”

Women online have known this for years. Most doctors, gatekeepers, and insurance-based providers still haven’t caught up.

That’s why SummaUp starts with testosterone first. We fix the signal that gives you back your sleep, muscle tone, sex drive and face.

The system is broken, so we’re building our own. There’s no FDA-approved testosterone formulation specifically indicated for women in the U.S., so it is vastly under-prescribed and underdosed. SummaUp is working to fill that gap through evidence-informed, compounded testosterone therapy that can eliminate symptoms in just a few weeks.*

“Fading” is simply not your story.

Take 60 seconds, start your assessment, and find out if testosterone is part of your answer.
